Battle of the Brands Print

Battle of the BrandsJit-Pak in partnership with the Fire Service have recently carried out independent "extreme" tests on a Peli, Storm and Explorer case..................

These tests were carried out in controlled conditions and included fire, water, heat, height and impact tests. All of these tests were videoed and will be made available on this site to give you the customer, a better indication of which case suits your particular needs. Did they all pass? Did one brand survive better than the others? Judge for yourself if there were any clear winners!

The clips have been speeded up by 5x in places to reduce the file size and thus the opening time. So what seems only 10 seconds or so, is in reality more like a minute etc.

Finally, unlike other case "tests" there is no cutting/editing and they are continually filmed without breaks so no trickery involved!

TEST ONE - The Water Test. The "official" specs only require the cases to withstand four inches of rain per hour for 20 minutes each side, followed by a 4 hour test at 4" per hour on the top surface. In fairness to the Peli & Explorer Cases, we doubled the abuse on the Storm case as it meets a higher "official" rating than the others.  TEST TWO - The Drop Test.  The "official" specs only require a drop test of 30" i.e. 2.5 feet. We went more than 10x this height onto concrete to ensure the cases had the maximum amount of shock going through the contents!

TEST THREE - The Impact Test.    Only Storm cases have "official" specs for this category which is a 13lb dart from 0.5m height. We exceeded that height by 200%!

TEST FOUR - The Fire Test.  The "official" specs that the cases meet are between 60 to 90 degreesC. We went upto 10x this temperature in an attempt to cause complete meltdown!
TEST FIVE - The Ultimate Destruction.   There are no "official" specs for this as it guarantees to destroy the cases - or does it?
